Keynote Speaker for 2023: Mark Greene

The Everyday, Whole-life Gospel for our Time

In our rapidly changing culture, how can we live, show and share Christ’s invitation to peace and purpose among the people we naturally meet in our everyday Monday to Saturday lives – at the school gate, the office, the gym, the bowls club, the ward? Come explore through a blend of Biblical teaching, testimony, prayer and reflection, brought to us in Mark’s energetic mix of clarity, humour and down-to-earth examples.

Ex-New York Adman, ex-vice-Principal of the London School of Theology, Mark grew up Jewish and joyous in north London, spent a year on kibbutz in Israel, studied Hebrew at Cambridge and was wooed into Christ’s kingdom in his last term. He is now Mission Champion at the London Institute for Contemporary Christianity, having led it for twenty-one years.

A pioneer of workplace ministry and whole-life discipleship, his work focuses on envisioning and empowering God’s people for everyday mission and discipleship in the places they find themselves out in God’s world. His books include the modern classic Thank God it’s Monday, Fruitfulness on the Frontline, and, with Catherine Butcher, the million-copy selling The Servant Queen and the King she serves about the faith of the Queen.

He is married to Katriina, a Finn, and they have three adult children. Mark enjoys film and fiction and does a terrible imitation of Sean Connery and a reasonable one of Mr Bean. His wife wishes it were the other way round. His children wish he wouldn’t do either.
